These guidelines are intended for law enforcement authorities seeking records from Astyris Games Studio, a United Kingdom-based entity. We disclose user information in accordance with our terms of service and applicable UK law, including the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Investigatory Powers Act 2016.
2. Available Information
We generally possess the following information regarding our users:
- Basic Subscriber Information: Username, Email address, Date of account creation, and IP address logs (generally retained for 90 days).
- Content Data: Forum posts, public comments, and user-generated uploads.
3. Required Legal Process
We require specific legal process under UK law to disclose information:
- Data Protection Act Request: For basic non-content data where an exemption applies (e.g., prevention/detection of crime).
- Court Order / Warrant: Required for the content of communications or detailed usage history, appearing to be issued by a UK court or competent authority.
- International Requests: Requests from non-UK law enforcement must generally be made via Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) or through the UK National Crime Agency (NCA).
4. Data Preservation
We accept preservation requests to hold records for 90 days pending the issuance of valid legal process. Requests must be signed and come from an official law enforcement domain.
5. Emergency Disclosure
Under applicable legal provisions, Astyris may voluntarily disclose information, including content, if we have a good faith belief that an emergency involving danger of death or serious physical injury to any person requires such disclosure without delay. Emergency requests must clearly state the nature of the emergency and why the information is essential to prevent it.
6. Submission of Requests
Law enforcement requests should be submitted via email. Hard copies are not required if digital service is accepted.
